Into the Wild

Wild camping is one of those experiences I’ve always wanted to go out and do, but never really found the motivation or time to embark upon. The difference between camping and wild camping is that you aren’t in a campsite, you’re wherever you end up when the sun starts to drop.

Day 1

As I expected, the first night couldn’t have gone more wrong. On our travel to Wales we hit bottleneck traffic, meaning we’d arrive in the Welsh mountains in pitch black, this no longer left Wild Camping as an option.

In a rush to improvise we found a secluded campsite that promised an experience ‘as close to wild camping as possible.’ It turns out, after what felt like hours of driving blind through village roads, this campsite no longer existed and we had driven half a mile into a sheep’s field with only an abandoned. That led to the above scene, cooking a late night burger on a makeshift hob and making the car seats as comfortable as possible.

Day 2

Fortunately, we now had an entire day to plan out our hiking routes & discover the ideal camping location. Please don’t misinterpet the map as we in fact had absolutely no idea where we were going.

After about 3 hours of hiking, we finally found the perfect location. We set up camp, put together a campfire and finally and thankfully put our legs up for the night.
